The Tragic Sense of Life.

Miguel de Unamuno.

The man of flesh and blood, Unamuno tells us, the man thinks, but feels, or rather, he thinks with the entrails, blood, the whole body ... No intelligent man who seems intelligent and intellectual man today, memorizing, and above all, a little intellectual honesty. For this intellectual seems to learn a system and repeat your gear knowledge, the other, the thinking man feels, is coming to a particular way of thinking. Discover the truth and from it pours his original thought.
the tragic sense of life could be the tragic moment of St. Augustine when he speaks of perception time in the soul. From that moment happened. This in mind that just at the moment and a future that is not yet. Miguel de Unamuno speaks of intelligence and faith. Intelligence which weighs the ground of faith without demolish.
the tragic sense of life makes us think about death. At the end of life. But the sense referred to realize that we are aware of that target to death. That knowing we are alive and destined to die. In this live consciously.
That awareness, as Saint Augustine, who is the only time that stops lucid the man himself. That consciousness that leads to the prevention and reason. Miguel de Unamuno, who wrote novels to expose his moral philosophy, tells us that consciousness is a disease.
About the disease said to be the active principle by which the human being starts at the right. For a free particle reflective knowledge of disease on the return man to a plane irrational. And difference between knowledge for living, which equates to man and animal, of knowledge for knowledge: it is tragic.
So says the reason is a social product. Because the instinct conservation leads the individual to learn to live, to solve the needs of your own life.
After excessive booms will come to science as products continue to meet the needs of a society, or will serve the powerful. But as a social product, the reason is that the individual is preserved and maintained and thus perpetuating the same society. For the isolated individual becomes abstraction of man.
Unamuno reflects in this essay, Del sentimiento ... its deepest concern: life after death.
There is a very interesting idea, I mean, when Unamuno refers to the language. Said first language is intelligence, and this distinguishes us from animals. Then goes on to say that thought is an inner language, "and the language flows from the exterior interior."
The thought is inner speech. It is a dialogue with you. But it is a dialogue with one that is also a need to communicate to the other.
Unamuno continues to tell us that self-preservation by the man gets to know the necessities of life. Because hunger is the foundation of man to be perpetuated in society. Now, the instinct and sense of conservation to perpetuate.
The instinct of perpetuation of the social individual corresponds to the physiological level and that is love. The foundation of the society is love. But the survival instinct revealed a reality: Is it possible the instinct of perpetuation of gender?, And this is where the book gets more interesting ...
